Eleven employees of the Civil Engineering Military Family Housing Division came together Feb. 10 for their wingman activity at the House of Bread in Dayton.

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the team members prepared sandwiches and salads, served, washed dishes and cleaned up lunch for 150-300 people who are homeless.

"I took a poll in the office, and everyone was eager to do this as it is helping other people, and it is something we are doing as a team," said Terry Mathews, 88th Air Base Wing Civil Engineer Directorate's chief of military housing division.

"We really appreciate this from the housing division of Wright-Patterson," said Bill Evans, executive director. "This shows great support we get from the base."

The House of Bread is a Dayton-area soup kitchen that serves lunchtime meals to anyone in need.

"We wanted to help those who need help, and this was a perfect opportunity to do so," said Angela Grant, housing manager of privatization, of the wingman activity. "I'm glad we came together and bonded with fellow employees."
