Information Technology Conference seeks presenters Published March 27, 2006 By Monica Morales Electronic Systems Center Public Affairs HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, Mass. -- The Air Force Information Technology Conference staff recently announced its call for seminar papers, an invitation for government and industry experts to participate as presenters at the upcoming technology event. The AFITC is designed as a forum for the exchange of information between industry and government concerning the latest in information technology. The conference is scheduled for August 13-17 at Auburn University's Montgomery, Ala., campus. Themed "Dominating Cyberspace," the conference will feature more than 100 government and industry seminars, five keynote speakers, as well as a large exhibit floor with the latest in technology from industry leaders such as Microsoft, Dell, Micron, Gateway, CDW-G, Cisco, Lockheed Martin and GTSI. The call for presenters allows selected experts to provide workshops that bring the computer-user community up to date with the efforts of industry and various government agencies. Topics of interest include standard Air Force information technology contracts, security, future technology, unique solutions for common information technology problems, software, hardware, LANs, process improvement, Global Command and Control System, network control centers, system and network administration, computer maintenance, reduced cost of ownership initiatives, Web technology and new uses for older technology.
