More than 40 Airmen from Edwards, Travis Air Force Base, Calif., and Nellis AFB, Nev., arrived here, June 9.

Airmen from the 95th Security Forces Squadron spent more than six months in Afghanistan after completing a two-month training with the U.S. Army.

“We’re so excited to have these guys back,” said Lt. Col. Kerry Beaghan, 95th Mission Support Squadron deputy commander. “We received great feedback from their commanders in the desert; they did us proud.”

After more than 22 hours of travel, the Airmen were greeted by family, friends and base leadership as they unloaded bags and equipment from the aircraft.

There is another group of Airmen returning soon, while several more are preparing to deploy, Colonel Beaghan said.
