Tropical storm moves aircraft, crews to Wright-Patterson AFB Published Sept. 9, 2008 By 88th Air Base Wing Public Affairs WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio -- More than 250 aircrews, maintenance and security personnel from east coast bases, along with 108 aircraft, deployed to Wright-Patterson AFB Sept. 4-5 to avoid potential damage by Tropical Storm Hanna. Six C-17 Globemaster III aircraft from Charleston AFB, S.C., relocated here. Seventy five F-15E Strike Eagles deployed here from the 4th Fighter Wing, Seymour Johnson AFB, N.C. Navy and Marine aircraft, including an E-2 Hawkeye from Naval Air Station Norfolk and F-18s from NAS Oceana, also relocated here.
