Each year, Air Force Services gives away $25,000 in scholarship money for higher education. All eligible Air Force Club members and their families are encouraged to compete for the funds through a themed-essay entry.

Current club members and their immediate family members -- spouses, children and step-children -- who have been accepted by or are enrolled in accredited colleges or universities for entry during the fall of 2010 term as part-time or full-time students are eligible. Grandchildren who are dependents of the club member are also eligible. Student enrollment status may be for either undergraduate or graduate curriculum. Participants should write and submit an essay on the topic, "What does it mean to be a part of the Air Force Family?"

Essays must be:
· 500 words or less, excluding title;
· Typed in Microsoft Word 12-point Arial or Times New Roman font;
· Single-spaced with double-spacing between paragraphs;
· One-inch top and bottom margins and 1.25 inch left and right margin; and,
· Submitted on a CD.

Every entry package must include the following:
· CD containing essay with participant's name, date and word count. Social Security Numbers should not be on the CD.
· Entry form, photo copies accepted. Make sure all information marked with an asterisk is provided.
· Current college or university acceptance letter for new students, or official transcripts for those already enrolled.

Essays not meeting the above parameters will be disqualified from consideration. Entries should be submitted to each Air Force Materiel Command Club by close of business on July 1, 2010. Final scholarship awards will be announced by Sept. 17, 2010.
