Freedom's Call Tattoo 2010 offers attendees multiple Air Force technologies all under one tent

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio --  Unmanned aerial systems and human patient simulators are but a few of the technologies to be featured in the interactive setting of this year's Technology Exposition Tent at the Air Force Materiel Command Freedom's Call Tattoo 2010 on June 25.

"This year's Tattoo Exposition Tent is a must-see for everyone attending," said Dave Egner, Tattoo director. "It's a great chance to get a hands-on, up close look at just a few of the technologies used throughout the Air Force."

The sixth annual Tattoo kicks off with gates opening at 4 p.m. on the grounds of the National Museum of the United States Air Force. Tattoo is free and open to the public.

This year's air-conditioned, nearly 5,000-square-foot tent will be located in the spectator area and will showcase the technology and displays of about 14 exhibitors. Each exhibit represents technological capabilities developed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, and used by warfighters throughout the Air Force.

Air Force Materiel Command, the 88th Air Base Wing, the 516th Aeronautical Systems Wing, the 77th Aeronautical Systems Wing, the 303rd Aeronautical Systems Wing, the 312th Aeronautical Systems Wing and the 711th Human Performance Wing are among the organizations that will exhibit technologies and other items in the tent.

"The Exposition Tent has always been a lot of fun, especially for the crowd. This is a great opportunity to see some of the technology developed right here at Wright-Patterson," said Jim Palmer, Technology Exposition Tent director.

This is the Exposition Tent's third year as a featured activity area at Freedom's Call Tattoo. Past years' technologies have included everything from a NASA space suit to a full display of an Airman's combat gear, complete with night vision goggles, and even missile and bomb displays .

In addition to varied entertainment options, like flyovers, stage events and narration, Tattoo attendees will also get a little taste of history. Tattoo 2010's theme of 'Reflections on 60 Years' will commemorate veterans from the Korean War.
