The iconic batwing shaped aircraft will be prominently displayed on all official Marathon gear, including the highly coveted finisher's medal racers receive after crossing the long 26.2-mile road to the finish line. "It is really exciting to have such an amazing featured aircraft" said Molly Louden, Marathon director. "There just isn't any other aircraft like the B-2." Registration for the 2012 Marathon begins at 12 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2012 with a special one-day rate. The 2011 race sold out in record time and officials are bracing for an early rush on registration. "I'm telling everyone to please register early. We had so many people that missed out last year due to the early sellout and I just want everyone to have the opportunity to experience this amazing race," Ms. Louden said. Although an additional 1,500 spots were added bringing the potential 2012 field to 15,000 runners, race officials fully expect to sell out based on the rate of recent growth.
