The Profession of Arms Center of Excellence continues to integrate its mission and personnel into Air University.

PACE moved from Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas, in July 2019, realigning under AU’s Ira C. Eaker Center for Leadership Development at Maxwell Air Force Base.

“We’re positioning the Eaker Center as the Air Force’s go-to source for comprehensive leadership development with top-notch curriculum and instructors,” said Col. Terri Jones, Eaker Center commander. “Moving PACE to the Eaker Center provides a strong foundation for leadership development based in the Air Force core values.”

The move didn’t interrupt PACE’s educational outreach as previously assigned members from the JB San Antonio-Randolph location continue to teach courses across the Air Force. PACE faculty located at Maxwell AFB are scheduled to begin education and outreach efforts in early 2020.

“We’re currently completing the transition to Air University and anticipate having the majority of our new team in place by the end of this year,” said Col. Aaron Guill, PACE director. “Although smaller in size following the move to Maxwell (AFB), we continue to support our customers via the many tools we offer and look forward to collaborating with our teammates at Air University.”

In her first Letter to Airmen, Secretary of the Air Force Barbara M. Barrett called the core values part of Airmen’s DNA. PACE enables units across the Air Force to cultivate an environment of excellence by fostering a culture based on the core values.

“Our transition to Air University means commanders and leaders can go to one location for a full range of leadership development opportunities,” Guill said. “As we integrate into the university, PACE will be able to enhance and expand curriculum that seamlessly ties into an Airman’s career.”

Founded in March 2015, PACE serves as the Air Force’s champion for strengthening Air Force culture by inspiring and developing every Airman to live the core values. PACE provides all Airmen with tools, videos and resources online at www.airman.af.mil. You can also follow PACE on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, as well as the Air University app.
