Re-branded DEIA office targets removing barriers to employment opportunity
Ensuring the current structure is named accordingly for all aspects of opportunity, the Air Force Materiel Command has rebranded the office charged with leading the efforts across the enterprise, resulting in a new “DEIA” acronym that encompasses diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility as mission imperatives.

CMSAF visits Holloman AFB, Operation Allies Welcome support
Bass received a firsthand look at Task Force-Holloman operations, which included touring the life support area housing service members temporarily deployed in support of Operation Allies Welcome, the in-processing center, quality of life support, and Aman Omid Village where Afghan evacuees reside.

Kendall stresses necessity of culture, language skills for building partner alliances in strategic competition
“I want to emphasize the important role language training and cultural understanding play in today’s global operations,” Kendall said in his keynote address. “Language is a warfighting capability. Our language-enabled Airmen and Guardians operate in foreign countries around the world, and their ability to communicate in a foreign language and understand cultural nuances are critical to their success.”

18th AES Airmen save life
An hour into their flight, a group of 18th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron members responded to an overhead message calling for medical assistance where they then provided aid to a passenger, which potentially saved his life.

Domestic abuse, violence victim shares her story
My husband was an active-duty soldier stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas. The first time he failed a drug test and his leadership went to bat for him. Understandably, they didn’t want to leave him behind. He was demoted, put on extra duty for a month and ordered to briefly attend substance abuse classes.

Spangdahlem refuels BTF bombers with VIPER kit for first time
Spangdahlem AB employed the VIPER kit by refueling B-1s participating in Bomber Task Force - Europe 22-1, following NATO allied integration during an operation in the Baltic Region. This marks the first time the refueling system was used outside of F-16 Fighting Falcons in the U.S. Air Forces in Europe–Air Forces Africa theatre.
