The Hawaii National Guard State Partnership Program recently facilitated an operation design seminar in Jakarta, Indonesia. Participants from the Hawaii Army and Air National Guard along with counterparts from the every branch of the Indonesian Military, spent five days in a combined lecture and hands-on staff exercise focusing on operational design.

Maj. Tulsi Gabbard, Hawaii National Guard military planning officer.

The Hawaii National Guard is state partners with Indonesia and regularly holds combined exercises and events to increase the depth of that relationship. This is the second year Hawaii and Indonesia have participated in an operation design seminar.

Quote - Maj. Mochamad Reza Achwandi

During the seminar each participant was provided an opportunity to grow in their profession of arms in military planning a key skill for Staff Officers and NCOS

Quote - Lt. Col. Brandon Torres, Hawaii Army National Guard military intelligence officer

2019 marks the 70th anniversary of relations between the U.S. and Indonesia.
