General Engineer NH-0801-03 Published June 17, 2026 About the Role: The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time General Engineer NH-0801-03 to work at the 412th Test Wing, 412th Electronic Warfare Group, 445th Test Squadron (445 TS/EWJE) at Edwards Air Force Base. Serve as the Systems Engineer, Joint Simulation Environment - Air Force (JSE), 412th Electronic Warfare Group, 412th Test Wing, Air Force Test Center (AFTC), Air Force Material Command (AFMC). Support the overall effort for building and delivering JSE as a modeling and simulation capability as part of the AFTC test & evaluation portfolio. Responsibilities include overall systems engineering process functions for all Integrated Product Teams. The primary purpose is to serve as a professional engineer and technical expert with systems engineering responsibility. Work encompasses the acquisition and development process in which the employee provides technical leadership in the planning, analyzing, and evaluating efforts used to define the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) system/subsystem requirements, translate requirements into design criteria, evaluate alternative design approaches, and develop system specifications. This overall effort directly supports the AFTC, EWG, & 772d TS missions. Major Duties: - Perform professional systems engineering work in support of the identification, acquisition, development, or sustainment of JSE systems, components, and/or support equipment. Apply expert knowledge and mastery of advanced engineering theories, principles, concepts, standards, and methods to ensure JSE remains consistent with project objectives, costs, schedules, performance criteria, and existing policies. - Function as technical specialist in developing system performance requirements, objectives and integration, and the estimation of time and resources for system design, development, and support. Apply expertise in the field of systems engineering and extensive knowledge of the assigned functional area to resolve unique or novel problems related to design and development engineering. - Perform complex and comprehensive analyses and uses systematic, disciplined, and quantifiable approaches to implement, develop, and document JSE. Evaluate procedures and employ innovative techniques and methods to achieve goals. - Serve as a consultant and technical expert to senior subject matter specialists and/or agency officials responsible for broad project operations. Provide status and advisory services to superiors on problems, issues, and sub-projects in JSE. Attend meetings, conferences, briefings, and seminars related to JSE. Knowledge of research, development, testing, and evaluation sufficient to apply experimental theories and/or new applications to issues and provide technical advice and direction in support of JSE customers. Knowledge of Modeling and Simulation, ground systems, and support equipment sufficient to plan, design, test, troubleshoot, evaluate, and oversee the development and/or sustainment of JSE systems or devices.
