Aircraft Mechanic Leader (Aircraft Pneudraulics Systems Trainer) (WL-8852-12) Published June 2, 2026 About the Role: The Air Force Test Center is looking for Full-Time Aircraft Mechanic Leader (Aircraft Pneudraulics Systems Trainer) (WL-8852-12) to work at the 412th Test Wing, 412th Maintenance Group, 412th Maintenance Squadron, Maintenance Flight Name (412 MXS/MXMX) at Edwards AFB, CA. In this position you will lead three or more workers to accomplish trades and labor work on a substantially full time and continuing basis. Leader is responsible to both perform the work assigned by a supervisor and ensures that subordinates completed assigned work consistent with trades and labor standards. Announcement Length/Closes: 10 days Location: Edwards, CA (Edwards Air Force Base) Typical 2026 salary range: $55.54 - $64.79 per hour (includes Locality) Travel Requirements: May be required to go TDY Areas of Consideration (AOC): Installation – Edwards, Test Wing Desired Skills: - 2 years of of Crash, Damaged, Disabled Aircraft Recovery (CDDAR) experience - 2 years experience performing wheel/tire maintenance - 1 year experience performing transient alert duties Major Duties: - Performs nonsupervisory trades and labor work that is usually of the same kind and level as members of the work crew led. - Performs the entire spectrum of trades/and or labor task appropriate for the occupations and grade of the team for which they are assigned working leader. - Conducts training to refresh or broaden the skills of experienced aircraft inspectors. - Maintains records pertaining to training, and aircraft maintenance work accomplishments as required. - As directed, assists or leads crews responding to inflight emergencies (IFE} or crash recovery operations, follows instructions from supervisor, senior mechanic, or fire department personnel to assist at scene as needed. - Performs variety of duties for transient alert or work involving aircraft wheels and tires. - Performs duties in a safe manner, utilizing safety practices and procedures, and complying with established safety rules and regulations. May be required to act as engine run certifying official on initial and annual recertification.
