About the Role:

The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Supervisory Site Support Specialist (NH-0301-03) to work at the 412th Maintenance Group (412MXG/MXOL) at Edwards AFB, California.

In this position you will serve as Supervisory Site Support Specialist and represent the Supporting Organization (SO) in all aspects of facility matters which allows the organization to meet mission requirements.

 

Announcement Length/Closes: 2 weeks

Location: Edwards Air Force Base, CA

Typical 2026 salary range: $104,349 - $161,313 Per Year (includes Locality)

Travel Requirements: Up to 25% Travel possible.

Major Duties:

- Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time.

- Manages test facilities utility systems, installed furniture and equipment under the purview of the commander/director.

- Directs the services of contractor facility maintenance on non-real property, including repairs, modifications and upgrades for all assigned facilities.

- Primary point of contact for facility space utilization, space modification, preventative maintenance, and equipment installation.

- Contributes to logistics plans by developing information on other program support areas, such as estimates of manpower requirements for aircraft maintenance support in conjunction with the senior logistician.

- Reviews and provides inputs to planning documents and develops detailed support plans including funding requirements for new facilities or modulations to existing

facilities.

- Develops technical specifications for purchase and/or contract maintenance of highly specialized facilities, range & aircraft sub-systems.

- Develops budgets, performs cost benefit trade studies to provide management affordable options for execution to satisfy test program requirements

- Act with substantial authority to commit/reject ideas and proposals for facility support. 

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period
  • Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest
  • Obtain & maintain Security clearance (if applicable)
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical (if applicable)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction trades including mechanical, electrical, and/or civil engineering concepts, principals, disciplines, and practices.
  • Knowledge and ability to develop, plan, direct, coordinate, and document facility maintenance and operations activities.
  • Knowledge and ability to research, interpret, and apply building codes, rules, regulations, and procedures, and how they apply to facility design and construction projects.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Skill in preparing reports, organizing administrative functions, and developing, preparing, and giving briefings.
