Administrative Assistant (NK-0303-02) Published April 24, 2026 About the Role: The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Administrative Assistant (NK-0303-02) to work at the 412th Test Wing, 412th Maintenance Group, 412th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (412 AMXS/CCA) at Edwards Air Force Base. he 412th Maintenance Group (MXG) is responsible to 412th Test Wing (TW) Commander for establishing/evaluating logistics test requirements for all new/or modified weapons systems/subsystems assigned. MXG provides aircraft maintenance, logistics, manufacturing & modification support to test & evaluation programs. Position has the primary function of Administrative Support. Announcement Length/Closes: 10 days Location: Edwards Air Force Base, CA Typical 2026 salary range: $47,490 - $76,476 Per Year (includes Locality) Travel Requirements: Subject to TDY approximately 30 days per year Areas of Consideration (AOC): Installation – wide (Edwards AFB CA) Desired Skills: - At least 6 months to 1 year of Administrative Assistant experience desired - Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and pdf desired - Familiar with PROPS routing system desired. Major Duties: - Responsible for administrative duties associated with various programs including but not limited to; workflow tasks, awards, decorations, time accounting, leave, civilian or military pay, training, travel and travel card, supply, security, and other administrative duties as assigned. Incumbent may serve as primary focal point for any of the above programs or other duties as assigned. - Keeps management apprised of all suspense dates, establishes controls and suspense dates utilizing Workflow and developed suspense systems and follows up to ensure that required actions and responses are made within deadlines. - Performs administrative support to squadron, division, branch, or flight staff. Keeps management's calendar, adjusts appointments based on personal knowledge of priorities and policies. - Prepares correspondence from knowledge of desired action and disposition. Obtains necessary background information from appropriate office and organizations and prepares reply for supervisor's review. Maintains files of correspondence, regulations, directives, letters, and other publications. Reviews all reports and correspondence for adherence to policy and correctness of format prior to obtaining signature or dissemination beyond unit level. - Transmits and receives documents and messages electronically using personal computers or workstations that are networked or linked to other computers or workstations. - Distributes mail, prepares TDY orders and makes travel arrangements for unit staff. - Resolves problems associated with civilian personnel actions, awards, training, security, timecards, and other issues. Recognizes differences in existing procedures and applications and makes choices from among established alternatives. If the incumbent does not have the authority to resolve a problem, the incumbent will research rules, regulations, and recommend various courses of actions to be taken. Certification as a qualified typist is not required. Ability to plan and organize work, to meet deadlines and to communicate both orally and in writing.
