Major Duties: -Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. -Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. -Evaluates work performance of subordinates. -Gives advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. -Gathers data and prepares reports/briefings. Identifies quality productivity indicators for processes relating to assignments. -Leads team members to refine and apply efficient and effective methods and procedures for accomplishment of the work. -Documents processes and provides on-the-job training for team members. -Develops detailed plans (many without precedent and long-range) and directs or conducts comprehensive management studies to identify problems and propose solutions to improve productivity and efficiency. -Recommends improvements to processes, considering functional, mission, and organizational requirements. -Designs and conducts comprehensive research and analysis studies related to military and civilians in the areas of manpower, personnel, awards, Acquisition Professional Development Program, commercial activities studies (A-76), re-engineering, and/or special projects. Ability to use a personal computer to create and update databases and create quality productivity indicators and graphic presentations. Ability to meet and deal with customers using a high degree of tact and diplomacy. Ability to maintain good working relationships. Ability to organize and lead special study teams.
