Electronics Technicians (NJ-0856-03) Published March 27, 2026 About the Role: The Air Force Test Center is looking for (2) Full-Time Electronics Technicians (NJ-0856-03) to work at the 412th Test Wing, 412th Mission Support Group, 412th Communications Squadron (412 CS/SCOT) at Edwards Air Force Base. In this position you will ensure wireless communications equipment and systems provide required service to customers. Desired Skills: - 2 years experience in radio frequency propagation - 2 years experience in land mobile radio management and use - 2 years experience in Air Force maintenance process and procedure Major Duties: - Engineers wireless telecommunication and radio solutions, monitors and evaluates wireless telecommunications and radio systems for the AFTC - Consults with AFTC customers/programs to engineer wireless telecommunication and radio system solutions - Provides range support and technical expertise for AFTC organizations to engineer/review communications solutions/systems prior to contract award - Performs analysis, troubleshooting, and maintenance on wireless telecommunication and radio systems - Utilizes a variety of state-of-the-art manual and microprocessor controlled equipment in both fixed and mobile mode to perform analysis and resolve problems with wireless telecommunication and radio equipment - Performs initial installation, run-up, alignment and adjustment of complex ground radio, electronic systems, antenna systems, and public address systems (such as single channel receivers and transmitters and multi-channel transceivers operating in the HF, VHF, UHF, microwave frequency ranges) - Engineers secure communication solutions, analyzes, troubleshoots, and maintains secure communication systems - Consults with AFTC customers/programs to engineer secure communication system solutions. Maintains, installs, test, modifies and repairs 200-plus cryptographic systems, such as KG-194, KG-94, KG 84a/c, ky-58, ky-57, kiv-7, kg-40 (Fastlane), and KG-75 (Fastlane) systems - Interfaces with the Communications Management Center (CMC) concerning specific job tickets - Provides job status for CMS input into CAMS/CMS tracking system. Input data directly into the appropriate database. Ability to recognize configuration errors in wireless telecommunications configuration system setup, during planning or operation phases. In-depth knowledge of USAF maintenance and modification procedures, records documentation, and record keeping. Skilled in the use and maintenance of measuring instruments, various mechanics hand tools and special tools Knowledge of wireless telecommunications systems concepts and principles, radio frequency concepts and principles, monitoring or analysis hardware and software, standards, and. quality checking/control. Ability to manage resources (equipment, personnel. funding, etc.) on a project level, branch/flight/squadron level, or at a base level In-depth knowledge of instructions, specifications, technical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals used in the maintenance and modification of wireless telecommunications and radio systems equipment ***Resumes limited to two pages.
