About the Role:

The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time General Engineer (NH-0801-04) to work at the 412TW, Electronic Warfare Group, 771 Test Squadron (412EWG/771TS) at Edwards Air Force Base.   

 

 

The position provides technical expertise and direction on flight test of manned and unmanned air vehicles, missiles, hypersonic vehicles, and electronic warfare systems at both the integrated system and subsystem levels. Provides technical review of the planning, test conduct, evaluation, analysis and reporting and also participates in the safety review process. Works directly with different levels of managers such as the chief engineer, test force director, deputy director, project managers, operations officer, contractor and government leads, branch chiefs, division chiefs, other AFTC organizations, DoD agencies, government agencies, foreign participants, and contractors.

Typical 2026 salary range: $146,632 - $197,200 per year (includes Locality)

Travel Requirements: Up to 60 days

Desired Skills:

- 10+ years of Electronic Warfare (EW) Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E) experience.

-  Experience leading teams through the Engineering Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase.

- 2+ years of experience working bomber platforms

Major Duties:

- Leads or advises diverse engineering teams in planning, implementing and executing test and evaluation (T&E) of Air Force systems; must have an understanding of operational requirements in order to define test and evaluation requirements and effective test approaches to particular Air Force systems.

- Recognized 412 TW technical expert on one or more aspects of flight sciences, mission systems, or electronic warfare, test and evaluation; performs expert level professional engineering work to synthesize mathematical and engineering principles across multiple discipline areas to support the acquisition, testing and sustainment of Air Force systems.

- Interface and collaborate with personnel across different organizations including 412 TW, AFTC, AFMC, OSD, foreign participants, and government contractors as required to identify and resolve highly complex programmatic, organizational and technical problems related to the T&E of Air Force systems.

-Must have broad scientific and technical knowledge and skills in engineering related fields including ground/flight test, modeling and simulation, data analysis, and systems evaluation.

- Must have knowledge of integrated air-vehicle and ground systems.

- Must have knowledge of DoD acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures
