Engineering Technician (NJ-0802-02T03) Published Feb. 27, 2026 About the Role: The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Engineering Technician (NJ-0802-02T03) to work at the 412th Maintenance Group (412 MXG/MXOL) at Edwards Air Force Base, California. Serves as a facility technician supporting day-to-day site requirements to install, modify, and maintain test program non-real property and installed equipment which allows the organization to meet mission requirements. Announcement Length/Closes: 5 workdays Location: Edwards Air Force Base, CA Typical 2026 salary range: $47,490 - $113,185per year (includes Locality) Areas of Consideration (AOC): Installation - wide (Edwards Air Force Base) Desired Skills: - 2 years HVAC diagnostic/repair experience desired - General facility maintenance worker experience desired - General plumbing experience desired Major Duties: - Exercises control of and responsibility for the preparation of maintenance, modification, and repair work projects to ensure facilities and equipment meet mission needs - Monitors and performs preventive maintenance and repair actions to sustain safe and reliable operations of buildings, equipment, and test systems. - Monitors and performs maintenance activities on unique systems/sub-systems to ensure they are operating within prescribed standards and tolerances. - Works in concert with Site Support technicians to install, modify, test, evaluate, and repair backup power generation systems (fixed, stationary, transportable, and mobile), electrical power systems, security controls, and environmental controls. - Assists in the development and change recommendations in procedures and technical instructions where necessary to ensure safe operation and maintenance practices. - Maintains inspection and certification records that are required by technical orders, applicable regulations, 'and operating instructions. Qualifications/Requirements: - U.S. Citizenship - Obtain & maintain Security clearance (if applicable) - Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical (if applicable) - Knowledge of methods and techniques of engineering principles, concepts, and practices concerning complex technical requirements, operating capabilities, and maintenance needs of facilities and equipment. - Practical knowledge of backup power generation systems, electrical power systems, environmental controls, HVAC, and security controls - Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures in a variety of situations. ***Resumes limited to two pages.
