Aircraft Mechanic Aircraft Pneudraulics Systems Mechanic WG-8852-12 Published Jan. 27, 2026 About the Role: The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Aircraft Mechanic (Aircraft Pneudraulics Systems Mechanic (WG-8852-12) to work at the 412th Test Wing, 412th Maintenance Group, 412th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (412 AMXS/MXAC) at Edwards Air Force Base In this position you will provide on-equipment maintenance for T-38 general and type II modified test aircraft. Prepare aircraft for, and perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections, maintenance and modifications. Troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, modify, test and service aircraft systems, subsystems, components, and accessories of aircraft and engines. Assist other journey level mechanics and specialists as required to maintain assigned aircraft. Announcement Length/Closes: 3 Weeks Location: Edwards, CA (Edwards Air Force Base) Typical 2026 salary range: $50.49 - $58.90 per hour (includes Locality) Areas of Consideration (AOC): Department – wide (DoD) Desired Skills: - Experience with test equipment i.e. multimeters, diagnostic equipment, schematics desired - Engine Run qualification upon completion of initial training and one year experience desired - Experience with IMDS and ETIMS Major Duties: - Functionally tests, inspects and troubleshoots a variety of specially aircraft systems and aircraft Pneudralics systems, using appropriate test equipment, special tools, technical data, diagrams, blueprints etc. - Performs ground handling and servicing of assigned aircraft, including the preflight, post flight, launch, recovery, refueling, towing, washing, lubricating, jacking, and other common maintenance tasks. - Removes, inspects, repairs, overhauls, reinstalls or replaces standard and test modified aircraft and Pneudralics system components. - Maintains aircraft and maintenance records. Including all standard records and records of modifications performed on assigned aircraft, and equipment, following established procedures, technical data, and directives Qualifications/Requirements: - U.S. Citizenship - Obtain & maintain Security clearance - This is a designated Drug Testing Position - Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical ) - Must be able to qualify/maintain a flight line drivers licenses, operate government vehicles and AGE, and to pass physical examinations - In depth knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair, troubleshooting, and operation of high performance/test-modified aircraft systems and Pneudraulics systems. - Knowledge of instructions, specifications, technical drawings and manuals, and blue prints used in aircraft maintenance and modification. - Knowledge of Air Force aircraft maintenance and modification to include Type Two (T-II) modification procedures, records, documentation and record keeping. - Ability to read and interpret instructions, specification, technical drawings/manuals, and blueprints. ***Resumes limited to two pages.
