Technical Advisor (NH-0301-04) Published Dec. 17, 2025 About the Role: The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Position, Technical Advisor (NH-0301-04) to work at the 412 Maintenance Group (MXG/DT) at Edwards AFB. Incumbent serves as the senior civilian and advisor to the Maintenance Group Commander in all manning and organizational matters; strategic planning, special studies and administering policies relating to Instrumentation/Modification of aircraft; Logistics Test; Logistics Planning; Aircraft Maintenance of multiple Mission Design Series (MDS); and Facilities Planning and Operations. The incumbent provides leadership and establishes policy for all Federal Wage System and Acquisition Demonstration civilians in the Maintenance Group.. Announcement Length/Closes: 31 Days Location: Edwards AFB, CA Typical 2025 salary range: $141,180 – $195,200 per year (includes locality) Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel possible Areas of Consideration (AOC): Specific Organization 412 Test Wing Desired Skills: • Aircraft DT&E and TW CTF construct • Aircraft Maintenance per AFI 21-101 • MRTFB operations and RDT&E business rules • Civilian personnel management • Major weapons system acquisition and TW relationship to Program Offices • Contractor involvement in TW as part of DT&E and system under test (SUT) Major Duties: • Provides business knowledge, resource allocation, and analysis of maintenance workload versus capacity for Logistics Test, Logistics Planning, Facilities Planning and Operations, Instrumentation/Modification of aircraft, and Aircraft Maintenance. • Provides leadership, implements directives, and establishes policy for all Federal Wage System and Acquisition Demonstration civilians in the Maintenance Group. • Serves as the senior civilian executive for the personnel rating systems for all Maintenance civilian employees and for manpower and organization policy including movement of civilian personnel. • Directs business operations, reviews capability and resource assessments and approves statements of capability involving Group resources. Qualifications/Requirements: • U.S. Citizenship • Obtain & maintain Security clearance • This is a designated Drug Testing Position • Financial Management Statement • Occasional Travel • Knowledge of AFTC activities and requirements, and comprehensive knowledge of flight test resources, processes, and requirements necessary to provide appropriate support to a wide variety of flight test and business management concepts. • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance requirements and processes involving multiple types of aircraft, logistics management, principles, test and evaluation requirements and processes, and civilian personnel management requirements and processes. • Ability to stratify resources against approved programs; to plan, present, and execute budgets; to analyze budget impacts on programs; and to forecast long-term funding requirements.
