About the Role:

The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Security Specialist (NH-0080-02) to work at the 412 Test Wing, Wing Staff Agencies, Information Protection Office (412 TW/IP) Edwards Air Force Base.

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Security Specialist for the 412 Test Wing Information Protection Office. Supports a single or multiple 412 Test Wing/Air Force Test Center RDT&E organizations in the management and integration of Special Access Program, Information Security, Industrial Security, Personnel Security, Information Systems Security, Physical Security, Operations Security and Acquisition Security programs.

Typical 2025 salary range: $47,019 - $112,053 per year (includes locality)

Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel possible

Areas of Consideration

Desired Skills:

  • 1-3 years of security experience supporting Special Access Programs
  • Experience and understanding of the Security Eligibility Process
  • Understanding of the ICD 705 Technical Specs for constructing facilities
  • Experience in security management compliance

Major Duties:

  • Provide guidance on generalized security practices including Personnel Security, Information and Industrial Security, Physical Security, Operations Security and Special Access Security.
  • Administer personnel security practices, utilize Defense Information System for Security (DISS) System, Special Access Program (SAP) Security and accomplish security program objectives/mission requirements.
  • Accomplish physical security processes for Special Access Facilities (SAPF) and ICD 705 construction requirements.

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Obtain/maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
  • This is a designated Drug Testing Position.
  • The incumbent will be required to obtain/maintain DOD certification as a condition of employment. Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification conferral is required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position in accordance with DOD 3305.13-M, DOD Security Accreditation and Certification. The listed certification requirements may not be deleted or modified without the written approval of the AF Security Functional Authority (SAF/AA) or their delegated security career field representative.
  • Some temporary duty (TDY) travel may be required.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of security disciplines and functions, security systems, flight and ground test security operations, concepts, principles and practices that include Acquisition Programs Security, lnformation Protection, Information Security, Industrial Security, Physical Security, Personnel Security, Operations Security (OPSEC), Foreign National Visitors and Foreign Military Sales, Technology Transfer. Arms Control Treaty Compliance, RDT&E Test Security, Program Protection Planning and Critical Program Information, Public Release, Communications Security (COMSEC), Emissions Security, Counter-intelligence, and Special Access Program (SAP) security requirements.
  • Knowledge of rules, requirements, instructions, procedures, or operations applied to administrative work, such as preparing plans, reports, presentations, editing documents, maintaining files, researching and assembling information for various reports.
  • Knowledge of processes for classified material handling, classification and marking policies, standards and guides.
  • Skill in attention to detail, researching and writing security plans, test plans, operating instructions, and program procedures.
  • Skill in interpreting Security Classification Guides and Program Management Guides and implementing security programs and operations accordingly.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and assemble, compile, compose, coordinate and track information for reports, inquiries, investigations and related correspondence. Ability to plan, organize work, meet deadlines and multi-task.
