About the Role:

The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Senior Geospatial Information Specialist (NH-0301-03) to work at the 412th Test Wing, 412th Civil Engineer Group, Engineering Division, Execution Support Section (412 CEG/CENME) at Edwards Air Force Base.

Serves as a senior Geospatial Information Specialist to develop and maintain Geographic Information Systems (GIS)/Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) tools, system/web applications, programs, and database integrity.

Typical 2025 salary range: $103,316 - $159,716 per year/per hour (includes locality)

Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel possible

Areas of Consideration

  • Department – wide (DoD)

Desired Skills:

  • 5 plus years of experience in a military GIS environment
  • Advanced knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS Professional and AutoDesk AutoCAD 2024
  • Web programming skills desired

 

Major Duties:

  • Serves as GIS/CADD system administrator. Manages, configures and programs system requirements to support the GeoBase program. Plans, designs, develops, implements, and maintains system architecture and applications to effectively manage organizational GIS hardware assets and ensure that the system collects, stores, and processes geospatial data that supports current and future organizational business needs.
  • Provides GIS application administration. Administers and manages GIS spatial databases. Develops and maintains GIS spatial databases necessary for civil
  • engineering and architectural design and construction, land surveying, natural and cultural resource management, community planning, real property management, electrical and mechanical engineering, utilities operations, structure maintenance, emergency response, air and space operations, logistics, safety, security, and communications.
  • Provides IT expertise concerning GIS and Geospatial technologies. Provides technical guidance and instruction to users and other IT and GIS/CADD specialists. Prepares, coordinates, and implements policy and procedures for hardware and software applications system operation. Develops comprehensive instruction for operation of system components.

 

Qualifications/Requirements:
