About the Role:

The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Materials Handler (Tool and Parts Attendant) (WG-6907-06) to work at the 412th Test Wing, 412th Maintenance Group, 412th Maintenance Squadron / Propulsion Flight (MXMP) and 912 Aircraft Maintenance Squadron/Bombers Flight (MXAB) at Edwards Air Force Base, CA.

In this position you will perform technical and administrative work in support of aircraft engine maintenance in the flight’s Support Section. Operating a HazMat Pharmacy and Tool Room; to control CTK's, E-tools, Bench Stock, HazMat, Equipment accounts, TMDE and Vehicles.

Location: Edwards Air Force Base

Typical 2025 salary range: $65,761 - $76,718 per year (includes locality)

Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel possible

Areas of Consideration

  • Edwards AFB 

Desired Skills:

  • 1 year of mechanical experience repairing tools/equipment
  • 1 year experience accounting for tools/equipment
  • 1 year experience with Hazmat
  • 1 year experience ordering needed tools/equipment

Major Duties:

  • Conforms to all safety regulations/policies relating to Hazmat storage/usage/disposition
  • Performs daily issue/inspect/turn-in of tools and equipment ensuring proper accountability.
  • May be assigned TDME monitor.  Ensure no out of calibration items are issued.
  • May be assigned equipment account monitor.  Ensure all equipment is accountable.
  • May be assigned Flight Vehicle monitor.  Ensure vehicles are ready for use or being repaired.
  • May be assigned a Bench Stock Monitor.  Ensure sections have all the parts required.
  • Will be required to use IMDS to order parts/tools etc.
  • Needs good shop work practices ensuring safe, neat, well organized, secure work areas.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Obtain & maintain Security clearance
  • This is a designated Drug Testing Position
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.  Will be required to drive.
  • May be required to work overtime, rotating shifts, uncommon tours, weekends
  • Incumbent may be tasked with additional job-related duties and responsibilities
