Senior Master Sgt. Kalvin Moore is the senior enlisted leader for the 412th Civil Engineer Group. He advises the group commander on enlisted matters and serves as a mentor for 600 total force personnel, comprised of professional engineers, maintenance technicians, explosive ordnance disposal technicians, firefighters, emergency management technicians and environmental engineers. The team is tasked with constructing, operating, protecting and maintaining the installation’s 3,500 real property assets valued at more than $15 billion, with an annual budget of more than $170 million. Additionally, his team protects 11,000 base personnel and enables the execution of $46.5 billion in testing and weapons development.
Moore enlisted in the Air Force in April 2003 and graduated from the Naval School Explosive Ordnance Disposal in May 2004. He has held a variety of joint and expeditionary positions within the explosive ordnance disposal career field. He has served as an EOD superintendent twice, at Fairchild Air Force Base and Edwards Air Force Base. He has also served as an EOD technical school instructor and as the Air Force’s explosive ordnance disposal advisor at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, where he advised U.S. and partner nations on defeating small unmanned aerial vehicles and improvised explosive devices. Moore has deployed for six tours and participated in Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, Inherent Resolve and Epic Fury. Prior to his current position, Moore served as the explosive ordnance disposal superintendent at Edwards Air Force Base.
