Col. (Dr.) Jason Webb serves as the commander and director of the 412th Medical Group, 412th Test Wing, at Edwards Air Force Base, California. In this capacity, he leads 200 desert medics to provide medical, dental, and ancillary care for 16,000 beneficiaries, as well as comprehensive medical readiness support to the Air Force Test Center and more than 50 mission partners.
Webb was commissioned in the Air Force in 2000 through the Health Professions Scholarship Program. He earned a medical degree in 2004 and completed his general surgery residency in 2010. He has served five major commands and deployed six times, supporting Operations Odyssey Dawn, Enduring Freedom, Juniper Shield, Inherent Resolve, Agile Spartan and Spartan Shield.
He has extensive experience in deployed medicine, having led Special Operations Surgical Teams supporting kinetic operations, a Mobile Field Surgical Team supporting a bare-base build in Africa, two Ground Surgical Teams, an Expeditionary Medical Support System build-up at Ramstein Air Base in Germany in support of Operation Allies Refuge, and Joint Personnel Recovery Agency reintegration activities for U.S. European Command.
Webb played a vital role in the preparation for and care of casualties in support of Operations Midnight Hammer and Epic Fury. Prior to assuming his current position, he served as the commander of the 86th Medical Squadron at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany, where he led 280 personnel across 102 Air Force specialty codes and served as an executive team member in the Department of War’s sole overseas Level II trauma center.
