Col. Phillip Rehmert is the commander of the 412th Maintenance Group, 412th Test Wing, Edwards Air Force Base, California. He leads more than 1,900 civilian and military personnel executing developmental test and evaluation on 77 highly modified test aircraft across 11 mission design series. Additionally, he oversees 143 maintenance industrial and support facilities valued at $2 billion and plans and executes $3 million in sustainment and modernization projects annually. He collaborates with system program offices, supply chain managers, Air Logistics Centers, the Defense Logistics Agency and the Pentagon in support of test programs. Finally, Rehmert leads maintenance operations across five squadrons throughout 15 operating locations supporting wing mission requirements.
Rehmert received his commission in 2004 as a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps. He is a career aircraft maintenance officer serving in various maintenance, logistics and staff assignments at the wing and headquarters Air Force levels. He has commanded two squadrons and deployed as the deputy maintenance group commander of the 332d Expeditionary Maintenance Group at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, Jordan. He has experience leading sortie generation and backshop repair units, across multiple aircraft types, throughout five different major commands.
Prior to his current position, Rehmert was the branch chief for enterprise strategy and analysis in the Directorate for Resource Integration, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics, Engineering, and Force Protection, Headquarters Air Force, at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.
