HURCON 3 UPDATE Published Aug. 27, 2012 By 082712 EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Eglin will remain in Hurricane Condition Three due to the threat of Hurricane Isaac. Wind gusts of 52 knots and up to a foot of rain are expected through Wednesday night. 96th Test Wing and 53rd Wing aircraft will be evacuated. F-16s will relocate to Shaw Air Force Base, S.C. F-15s will relocate to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C. 33rd Fighter Wing F-35s will beddown in hangars on base. Mission critical personnel: Aug. 28 and 29 mission critical personnel will report as directed by their commander. Non-Mission critical personnel: Aug. 28 and 29 non-mission critical personnel will not report to work. Military personnel: The Installation Commander has authorized a special two day pass for Aug. 28-29, IAW 36-3003 para 8.3. Any unauthorized absence that exceeds the pass period will be charged as leave and needs to be approved by the unit commander. Civilian personnel: administrative leave for non-mission critical personnel has been authorized by 96 Test Wing commander for Aug. 28-29 starting Aug. 28 at 6 a.m. With HURCON Three declared, the following preparations should be started: · Ensure you have completed all steps/precautions listed for HURCON 4. · Secure any loose items and harden or cover all windows at home with plywood if there are no shutters. · Have a communication plan established that will allow for a constant communication channel with friends and family. · Fuel all vehicles. Keep at least half a tank of fuel in vehicles at all times even if no hurricane is due. · Ensure to have adequate cash on hand. · Ensure disaster supply kit is well stocked with food, water, batteries, toiletries and clothing. · Gather important documents or place in a fire/waterproof location. · Have a plan for family members with special medical needs and pets. · Prepare home for hurricane.
