Name:
Walter C. Jimison Sr.

Rank: GS-08

Duty Title: Security Forces watch commander (supervisory police officer)

Office/ Duty Section: Air Force Plant 42

Hometown: Charleston, South Carolina

When did you join the Air Force? September  2010

Why did you join the Air Force? To work with the Air Force civilian police and Security Forces community and enrich my law enforcement knowledge in such a diverse environment.

What do you like most about your job? I like educating and shaping the officers under my charge giving them the ability to perform at the highest level in order to protect and serve as constant professionals.

What is your favorite thing to do around the area? Going to a local range when one of my three children, each in either the Marine Corps, Army, or Navy return home from deployment and challenge dad with marksmanship skills they've learned while deployed.

Warrior Highlights: Walter Jimison's leadership, professionalism and dedication to duty within ASC Detachment 1 Security Forces are above reproach. He constantly strives for excellence for his personnel and himself. His passion for the performance and welfare of his subordinates is evidenced on a daily basis. He leads DAF civilian Police Officers and Security Guards on assigned shifts securing and defending Air Force Plant 42, and expertly handling both routine and emergency situations. He led the local initiative to streamline the installation entry authorization list process, helping reduce deficiencies and provide crucial policy input ensuring limited delay for entry by visitors. He masterfully orchestrated flight training program and identified shortfalls while working diligently to develop achievable completion dates for training requirements.

-- Mr. Timothy Hughes, Director, ASC Det 1, Air Force Plant 42
