Airmen cultivate leadership qualities through Ranger Assessment Course
Twenty-three Airmen from across the Air Force recently converged on a training camp for a 3-week Ranger Assessment Course near Schofield Barracks, Oahu, Hawaii. The purpose of the 19-day course is to prepare, assess and evaluate Air Force candidates for Army Ranger School at Fort Benning, Georgia.

ACC commander holds NAF integration town hall
Air Combat Command announced the plans for this reorganization in April of this year as a way to better integrate cyber effects, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance operations, electronic warfare operations and information operations. The synergy between cyber, ISR, EW and IO will increase unity of effort across these capabilities, resulting in new and improved options for combatant commanders.

AFCEC’s Base and Realignment Closure team developed and transferred geospatial data for 39 BRAC installations onto the Air Force GeoBase program and was the first organization to complete the Air Force wide task.

Sheppard AFB hosts international partners for C-130 maintenance training
To combine these forces, the 818th MSAS sent 15 maintainers from the Chadian, Nigerian and Ethiopian air forces to Sheppard AFB’s aircraft maintenance training environment for a three-week C-130 training course.

Ensuring Rapid Global Mobility: Travis AFB supports JB Lewis-McChord, March ARB
In February, the unit’s maintainers welcomed 18 C-17 Globemaster III aircraft from Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington. Over the course of the next four months there were three C-17s from JB Lewis-McChord at Travis AFB, at any given time, along with approximately 100 maintainers from the 62nd Maintenance Squadron, while JB Lewis-McChord completed a nearly 100-day construction project on its runway.

All in a weekend: JB Charleston's 315th Reserve Airmen deliver humanitarian aid to Dominican Republic

Superintendents join AFPC Squadron Commander Course
Previous courses this year provided a first-hand opportunity to new and sitting squadron commanders to learn about AFPC programs and processes for talent management and care for Airmen and families. This iteration offered superintendents the same opportunity, with 41 commanders and civilian directors, and nine superintendents attending.

Air Force leaders strengthen community ties, engage students at JB Andrews Air & Space Expo
Secretary of the Air Force Heather Wilson delivered opening remarks for this year’s biennial three-day event, which focused on JB Andrews’ partnership and mentorship with local schools against a backdrop of more than 30 STEM exhibits designed to engage and inspire some 7,000 students.
