EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The 96th Test Wing hosted a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility symposium Aug. 22-25.

The symposium amplified Air Force Materiel Command’s efforts to remove equal employment opportunity barriers that may exist in personnel policies, practices and working conditions.

The four-day event, headed by AFMC’s DEIA Strategy Division, included nearly 60 DEIA professionals from across the command.

Keith Tickle, AFMC’s DEIA Strategy Division chief, said AFMC adopted DEIA initiatives that yield better results and outcomes, and are driven by dedicated resources, strategic planning, goal setting, and evaluation processes that contribute to improving the results and outcomes of the program.

Additionally, he said AFMC's practices promote the values of DEIA, although the office still needs to be integrated into the organization's strategic planning and mission.

“AFMC must remain inexhaustible in its commitment to equal opportunity for uniformed and non-uniformed members alike, Tickle said.  “Differences do not make us deficient; they make us stronger.”
