Safety office announces poster contest winners Published May 30, 2008 By Maj. Christopher Strong Air Force Flight Test Center safety office EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Each year, the Air Force Flight Test Center Safety office sponsors a safety poster-coloring contest within the Edwards elementary school district. The three main goals of the contest are to emphasize that safety begins at home, safety is everyone's responsibility, and that safety touches all of us deeply and comes from the heart! This contest's theme is "Accidents big or small, avoid them all!" The initiative promotes all facets of safety by encouraging our kids to work together as a team, look out for each other and to remind all of us to be safe. Our kids are an integral part of what we do at Edwards. We want children to know that their perspective on accident prevention is important. As in past years' contests, the AFFTC leadership selected the winning entries from more than 200 posters. They selected entries that best conveyed our children's heartfelt wishes for all of us to be safe. These great works of art will be prominently displayed throughout the Edwards community in the coming weeks. Maj. Troy Gamm, AFFTC flight safety officer, presented this year's winners with a personal copy of their safety poster. The safety poster contest winners are: Bailey Elementary 1st Grade Taylor George Morgan Quinlan 2nd Grade Aspen Blanchard Samantha Cheng Phoebe Dapilmoto Sara Fiedler Branch Elementary 3rd Grade Lily Alatorre Ashley Trask 5th Grade Aimee Bugaren Hanna Fiedler Josh Huck John Ah Sing
