Around the Air Force: AF, Navy Arabian Gulf readiness / CSAF talks modern warfare
In this edition of Around the Air Force, F-15E Strike Eagles attached to the 336th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron participated in an air operations exercise with the USS Gonzalez (DDG 66) and Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David Goldfein speaks at Air and Space Power Conference 2019 in London.

Strike Eagles participate in joint integration exercise with Navy
The F-15E Strike Eagles are based out of Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates, while the USS Gonzalez (DDG 66) is assigned to Commander Task Force-55 and the P-3C Orion is assigned to the CTF-57 based out of Bahrain.

Gen. Goldfein strengthens partnerships, gains valuable insights during visits to Estonia, Finland
Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David L. Goldfein had a three-day visit to the two Northern European nations. It offered Goldfein and other senior U.S. leaders valuable opportunities to learn from Estonia about cyber operations and from Finland about its approach to expeditionary operations and agile basing, training and homeland defense.

CSAF presents Kolligian Trophy to T-38 pilot
During the ceremony, Goldfein stated that Heath's superb analysis and outstanding skill in response to this life-threatening emergency resulted in the safe recovery of two Airmen and an $8.2 million aircraft.

AFIT students inform Pentagon energy initiative as part of new course
Initiated and funded by Air Force Operational Energy, the course covers topics such as aircraft physics, aircraft energy requirements including propulsion & mission systems and the technologies used to meet those requirements. Future technologies are also considered, along with operational factors such as fuel logistics, wargaming and energy optimization.

Around the Air Force: B-52’s in Qatar / F-35 Training / Grand Forks Redesignation
Today's look around the Air Force - a U.S. bomber task force deployed to Al Udeid Air Base completed its first mission in mid-May, the 33rd Fighter Wing at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, was chosen as a potential new F-35 training squadron, the Air Force is reactivating the 65th Aggressor Squadron and moving 11 F-35 Lightning A-II's to Nellis AFB, Nevada, and Secretary of the Air Force Heather Wilson announced the redesignation of the 319th Air Base Wing at Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota, as the 319th Reconnaissance Wing.
