New automated tool for the acquisition workforce

The Air Force has implemented a new automated tool for the acquisition workforce to request Acquisition Professional Development Program certification called "ACQ Now for Certification". It has a similar look and feel to ACQ Now DAU and ACQ Now CL and is accessible using CAC login at https://www.atrrs.army.mil/channels/acqnowcert/student/logon.aspx.

Once the member applies for their APDP certification, the tool links to the data in the official personnel systems. If the education, training, and experience requirements for certification have been met and are in the personnel system, a certification is approved and sent to the supervisor of record.

The certification is automatically updated in the personnel system. If education, training, and experience is missing from your official personnel record, contact your personnel office or base APDP manager for assistance. APDP managers are identified on the AFMC APDP CoP at: https://afkm.wpafb.af.mil/community/views/home.aspx?Filter=MC-ED-01-63.

You can access your Acquisition Career Management System career brief by going to the AFPC secure site at https://w20.afpc.randolph.af.mil/afpcsecurenet20/CheckPortal.aspx.

Office of the Secretary of Defense Acquisition, Technology and Logistics implemented the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act in 1990 by establishing a certification program to ensure acquisition personnel meet the minimum mandatory education, training, and experience requirements.

The Defense Acquisition University catalog defines the uniform DOD certification requirements for each AT&L career category. All personnel assigned to an acquisition-coded position must be certified in their specified career category and level within 24 months of assignment unless extended by AT&L.
