About the Role:

The Air Force Test Center 412th Test Wing is looking for a Full-Time Position, Supervisory Business Specialist (NH-1101-03) to work at the Operating Location Air Force Plant 42 Business Integration (412 TW/OL-AFP 42/CCBS) in Palmdale CA.

The purpose of this position is to execute the Air Force Plant 42 business functions, to serve as the business functional lead and to serve as supervisor/manager, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over business employees assigned to the Air Force Test Center, 412th Test Wing Operating Location Air Force Plant 42, Palmdale, CA 93550.

Location: PALMDALE CA 93550. (USAF Plant 42)

Typical 2026 salary range: $104,349 - $161,313 per year (includes Locality)

Travel Requirements: Approximately 10 days per year.

Incentives:

Desired Skills:

- 5 years of experience managing the Human Resources Liaison function and Manpower and Manpower documents along with managing Information/Communications Technology Specialists desired.

- 5 years of experience managing organizational budget and financial resources desired.

- 5 years of experience managing Command Support Section and information management desired.

Major Duties:

- Exercises supervisory personnel management, including planning work, setting priorities, and preparing schedules for completion of work.  Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities and evaluates their work performance.

- Reviews work products produced by organizational personnel pertaining to Business Integration Sections, serves as quality control coordinator prior to submission to Director.

- Interviews candidates for positions and recommends appointments, promotions, or reassignments.

- Hears and resolves complaints from employees and effects disciplinary measures.

- Identifies developmental and training needs of employees and finds ways to improve the quality of the work directed.

- Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the organization to ensure operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs.

- Develops goals and objectives that integrate with the organization's objectives and establishes policies and procedures for the accomplishment of the assigned workload.

- Reviews the organization's mission, function, and manning, and initiates requests for additional resources such as personnel via annual civilian POM, equipment, and supplies.

- Participates in special projects and initiatives, performing special assignments and initiating milestones and goals.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period
  • Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest
  • Obtain & maintain Secret Security clearance
  • Knowledge of the applicable principles, concepts, policies, and laws; functions, programs, and systems applicable to the duties of logistics business and material support; sources, responsibilities, and means for providing assistance and advice to resolve logistics business problems; and all aspects of logistics business support.
  • Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and direct, mentor, motivate and appraise the staff of a small to medium sized organization.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and translate complex information, make appropriate judgments, and evaluate options.  Adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
