Don Blose, 71st Communications Squadron information systems quality assurance evaluator, compares the old Vance AFB home page, left, with the Vance portal page that’s now available by going to www.my.af.mil and selecting “My Base” from the “Bases-Orgs-Functional Areas” menu. The server hosting the old home page will be turned off Sept. 3 and web page maintainers will no longer be needed. The Vance Portal Page will be maintained by content managers at the wing/group level. Content managers in each organization will be responsible for maintaining and updating their individual pages. Organizations requiring individual content managers will submit an appointment letter to the base content managers at 71 CS/SCB. Woodson Whitebird, an elder of the Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes, performed as a guest speaker at the Vance Air Force Base Youth Center on March 7 for the School Age Program. Mr. Whitebird passed on historical and cultural information to the children by giving them a background on some of the handcrafted tools and clothing he brought.
