MCGHEE TYSON AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Tenn. – Memorabilia of Maj. Gen. I.G. Brown is displayed in the lobby of Patriot Hall at the I.G. Brown Training and Education Center. In a framed photo, Brown as a brigadier general holds a model aircraft with then Lt. Gen. Joe W. Kelly, later the first four star commander of the U.S. Air Force's Military Air Transport Service. Kelly’s autograph reads, “My best regards to Gen. I.G. Brown.” Brown later became the first Director of the Air National Guard and is credited with founding the Center dedicated in his name.
